Body Found in Maple Shade Pond

Police say the body was discovered early Thursday

Investigators were at a Burlington County pond Thursday searching for more clues after a body appeared in the water. NBC10’s Byron Scott is live at the scene with the latest information.

A body was discovered early Thursday in a pond at Steinhauer Memorial Park near West Main Street and Coles Avenue in Maple Shade, N.J.

Police say someone flagged down officers around 5:45 a.m. after they saw the body in the water.

Officers on scene tell NBC10 it was a man's body. Divers searched the water, as part of their investigation.

Police say it appeared he drowned and the death isn't suspicious.

The identity of the man has not been released but authorities say he was in his 50s.
