Elderly Pennsylvania Man Dies After Being Found Out in the Freezing Cold

Raymond Sokalsky, 86, of Allentown, died after being found Thursday morning outside in the cold weather.

An elderly Lehigh Valley man, wearing little clothing in the cold, died Thursday morning.

Raymond Sokalsky died early Thursday at Sacred Heart Hospital, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner determined that the 86-year-old Allentown man died from accidental hypothermia.

Family members found Sokalsky outside his Tilghman Street home around 4 a.m. Thursday, said authorities. He died two hours later.

Sokalsky’s family found him outside with very little clothing on, said authorities. At the time temperatures hovered well below the freezing mark.
