Aggressive Driving Crackdown Along City Ave

Lower Merion Police say they’re cracking down on aggressive drivers on City Avenue in August and September.

The Lower Merion Police Department is warning drivers along Route 1 and Route 30 to slow down.

The suburban police force is upping its patrols throughout August and September on City and Lancaster avenues to curb aggressive drivers, according to Lower Merion Township officials.

Officers will target aggressive driving behavior like speeding, following too closely, running red lights, passing improperly and changing lanes in an unsafe manner.

Motorists on other nearby roadways may also notice an increased police presence.

The crackdown is funded through PennDOT's Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project, which aims to reduce the number of needless aggressive driving injuries and deaths
