62-Year-Old Woman Shot in Chest While on Phone With Husband

She was shot in the chest shortly before 3 a.m. near 40th and Aspen streets.

A woman was shot and killed overnight in West Philadelphia’s Mantua neighborhood. She was on the phone with her husband when it happened. Stay with NBC10 for updates on this breaking story.

UPDATE Sept. 11, 2017: Police have identified the victim as Elizabeth Lewis. No further information is available at this time. 

A 62-year-old woman on the phone with her husband was killed in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia Sunday morning, police said.

She was shot in the chest shortly before 3 a.m. near 40th and Aspen streets.

The victim’s husband told police he heard his wife involved in a verbal confrontation with a man just before his wife was killed.

She has not been identified.
