28 Arrested in AC Prostitution Sweep

Investigators say the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit conducted a sweep of Pacific Avenue in which undercover female police officers posed as prostitutes.

Over two dozen people were arrested after a two day prostitution sweep in Atlantic City. Investigators say the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit conducted a sweep of Pacific Avenue in which undercover female police officers posed as prostitutes.

The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department, Absecon Police Department and the FBI Lost Innocence Task Force were also involved in the investigation. 28 people in all were arrested. 23 of those arrested were charged with engaging in prostitution.

As for the remaining five, one person was arrested for possession of marijuana and resisting arrest, one for multiple municipal warrants, one for a prostitution contempt warrant, one for possession of cocaine and heroin, and finally one for possession of heroin and distribution of heroin.
