Pilot Dies After Millville Plane Crash

Ronald LeCates died one day after his plane crashed at the Millville airport in Cumberlerland County, New Jersey.

Investigators say two people were seriously injured at the Millville Airport in Cumberland County on Wednesday afternoon after a plane crash. NBC10’s Monique Braxton reports.

The pilot whose plane crash-landed at the Millville Municipal Airport on Wednesday has died from his injuries. Ronald E. LeCates suffered head trauma when the plane veered off the runway and flipped over in the grass.

LeCates was carrying one passenger, another man, who is in serious condition. He has not been identified.

According to an eyewitness, the twin-engine Beechcraft Baron bounced several times when it touched down on the runway around 2:30 p.m, then hit the grass and overturned.

The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board.
