Tim Furlong is on a ledge urging you to give blood

The Blood Bank of Delmarva is where NBC10's Tim Furlong was holding a stunt for a cause Thursday

NBC Universal, Inc.

The need for blood donations prompted our Delaware reporter Tim Furlong to take action and he did so in a creative way. He stood on the roof of the blood bank in Delmarva and was not allowed to come down until he hit his goal of 100 donations. He not only reached his goal and got off that roof, but he helped them surpass that number.

NBC10's Tim Furlong (Mr. 302) was stuck up on a ledge Thursday in hopes that he got people to give blood.

Tim sat up on a ledge at the Blood Bank of Delmarva's Christiana location until at least 100 people gave blood at either the Delaware of Chadds Ford locations or other blood banks.

And he was successful!

The stunt started at 7:30 a.m. on July 6 and by 3:30 p.m. they had reached their goal.

Ahead of the stunt, Tim urged people to head to the Christiana location so, as Tim put it, "you can literally heckle me in person."

There were also giveaways -- free T-shirts -- for those giving blood. You could give blood anywhere and post your photo to count towards Tim's goal.

By late morning, more than 50 donations had already been made.
