Pennsauken Blaze Leaves Family Homeless

A huge fire gutted a house on the 6300 block of Highland Avenue in Pennsauken, NJ Wednesday night.

Flames could be seen shooting from the home around 8:00 pm as firefighters battled to bring the blaze under control.

Family members were in the home when the fire broke out, but fortunately everyone was able to get out safely.

One neighbor said they saw a child run back into the home to grab his puppy. Firefighters also rescued the family’s bird.

Crews were still battling the blaze at 11:00 pm Wednesday night. Fire officials are not confirming where or how the fire started, but a source close to the investigation believes it started in the kitchen.
