Prosecutors say Luis Gonzalez, 41, of D Street, raped and sexually abused his step-daughter from 2000 until 2009. The girl was eight when the abuse began and 16 when it ended. On one occasion, Gonzalez raped the girl in front of his own 8-year-old biological daughter, according to investigators.

Prosecutors say Gonzalez threatened to kill the two girls and their entire family if they ever told anyone about the abuse. They also say he physically abused the girl’s mother, forcing the girls to watch on several occasions.

In 2009, Gonzalez’s biological daughter finally told a friend about the abuse. DHS and police arrived at the home the next day and Gonzalez was arrested.

He was convicted of rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault and other related offenses. He is scheduled for sentencing on May 17, 2013.
