Hyundai Donates to Chop

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness month Hyundai Motor America and Hope on Wheels is giving some hope to children’s hospitals around the country including Philadelphia. Hyundai dealerships in Philadelphia partnered with Hyundai Motor America to donate $100,000 Hyundai scholar grant to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This initiative is part of the Hope on Wheels Campaign.This award was presented to Vandana Batra M.D. and Lisa Wray M.D.; the donations will benefit the hospitals cancer research program. “The Cancer Center is making great strides in pediatric cancer but funding is vital for our continued success,” said John Maris, MD, director of the Cancer Center and Center for Childhood Cancer Research at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. “We are grateful for the support of Hyundai Hope on Wheels and its customers, and will remain steadfast in our dedication to find new treatments and ultimately a cure for pediatric cancer.” Children who battled cancer got a chance to put their colorful hand prints on a Hyundai Santa Fe which is the official car for Hope on Wheels. “Hope on Wheels gives us an opportunity to give back to the Philadelphia community as we stand together to fight against childhood cancer,”said Peter Lanzavercchia, Philadelphia area Hyundai dealer.”We are proud to join these brave children and doctors in finding a cure.” In their 13th year Hyundai and Hopes on Wheels have promised to donate more than 18 million to childhood cancer research in 2011.
