Hop on the Bus

Mega Bus gives away 10,000 seats

With the economy still struggling, we're always looking for great deals or cheap alternatives.

Mega Bus is a cheap way to travel and the company is expanding its daily services to and from Philadelphia, and it's also giving away 10,000 free seats.

The new destinations include Atlantic City, Baltimore, Boston, Buffalo, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, State College, Syracuse, and Toronto. And a bus now leaves about every two hours to Washington, D.C. They also travel to New York City every couple hours.

"The great travel values offered by megabus.com provide a real opportunity for Philadelphia residents to travel frequently and do more at their final destinations; catch a game, visit friends and family, take an inexpensive working business trip or plan weekend getaways," said president and CEO of megabus.com Dale Moser in a press release.

Mega Bus will begin travelling to these new cities July 21. Free seats can be booked to and from the new cities and Washington on megabus.com with the promo code LUVPHL while supplies last.

29 buses leave Philadelphia every day from the south side of John F. Kennedy Boulevard, near the west entrance to 30th Street Station. It’s convenient because travelers living in the suburbs can then just hop on SEPTA and not have to worry about parking in the city.

Not only are the bus rides cheap -- starting at $1 if you book early -- the double-decker buses seat 81 people, have free Wi-Fi, power outlets, restrooms and some even show movies.

You can have an enjoyable ride without having to deal with all the road rage.

“The affordability of megabus.com makes it a popular mode of transportation, especially for young, tech-savvy travelers,” said Meryl Levitz, president and CEO of Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing.
