Graduation Coach Campaign

Mayor Michael Nutter announces a new campaign to encourage young students to graduate high school and then prepare them for college. The PhillyGoes2College was launched in 2010 and had inducted more than 1,500 people to become coaches to young people. This year the program’s objective is to train 1,500 more coaches. The coaches will participate in year-round workshops provided by anchor agencies to help them successfully communicate and mentor young people. “A caring adult in the life of a young person can make all the difference as he or she tries to reach his or her full potential,” said Mayor Nutter. “The Graduation Coach Campaign provides adults with the tools to help the young people in their lives achieve post-secondary success.. This is an opportunity to change the life of a young person and for adults to commit to improving the future of our city.” For more information on volunteering and a full list of anchor agencies visit PhillyGoes2College.
