South Jersey Day Care Where Boy Drowned in Fish Pond Out of Business

The South Jersey day care center where a child drowned in a goldfish pond last month is out of business, the state said Wednesday.

The South Jersey Times reports that 58-year-old Roxanne Lacy, of Millville, told the Department of Children and Families that she is no longer offering day care services.

The agency had told Lacy that she was in violation of state licensing law because she was caring for six children at the time of the boy's death.

The 15-month-old boy was found on Nov. 11. Authorities said Lacy was inside tending to one of the other children when the boy wound up in the pond.

Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said no charges have been filed and the case is still being investigated.
