Boy on Dirt Bike Hit by Car

A boy riding on an electric dirt bike in North Wilmington is critically injured after being hit by an SUV. Delaware State Police say it happened around 7:15 pm on the 900 block of Wilson Road. Police say the driver of the SUV, an off-duty Elsmere Police Officer, stopped and is cooperating with police. The boy was taken to AI Dupont Hospital for Children and is in critical condition. Police say he was not wearing a helmet and the driver of the SUV had the right of way.
