Awards of Valor

An extraordinary group of police and firefighters, who put their lives on the line every day, were honored tonight in center city. On the eve of September 11th, it’s a poignant time to honor members of the Delaware Valley‘s police and fire departments for their continued bravery. NBC10’s Harry Hairston emceed the National Liberty Museum‘s Awards of Valor in Society Hill. The annual awards recognized 33 police and firefighters who showed outstanding courage in the line of duty. Three hero K-9 dogs were also honored. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers were guest speakers.
