25-year-old nurse from Upper Darby becomes first Black woman to compete in U.S. Polo championship

Shariah Harris was raised by a single mom and joined the nonprofit ‘Work to Ride’ in Upper Darby when she was 8-years-old. The program teaches kids from lower income backgrounds to play polo. She later attended Cornell University on a polo scholarship. Now, she has become the first Black woman to play in the U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship. NBC10’s Karen Hua highlights her inspiring story.
