What's a Blizzard?



    What's a Blizzard?
    For some neighborhoods, this March storm could be the biggest of the season.

    What is a Blizzard?

    The storm is bringing with it high winds which could create snow drifts and whiteout conditions.

    For a storm to be classified as a blizzard two conditions must be met:

    • Sustained winds of 35 mph or higher for three hours or more
    • Falling or blowing snow which reduces visibility to less than 1/4 a mile
