Severe thunderstorms bringing lightning, hail, heavy rain and strong winds moved through our area Saturday. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was in effect for most of the region until 8 p.m.
Strong winds, heavy rain and hail from the storm caused outages across the area. PPL reported more than 6,000 outages in Lancaster and Allentown combined. PECO also reporting around 1300 outages.
A ground stop was also in effect for Philadelphia International Airport for an hour.
Before the thunderstorms, a Tornado Warning was in effect for Lancaster and Lebanon counties in Pennsylvania and a funnel cloud was spotted north of Columbia, Pennsylvania.
The unseasonably warm weather ended as the storms moved out. Cooler air entered Saturday night and will last overnight into Sunday and winds will continue gusting around 30 mph, making it feel even colder. Sunday's high will be 48 degrees.
