A severe line of spring storms barreled through the Philadelphia region at highway speeds pummeling neighborhoods with intense lightning, hail and 60+ mph wind gusts.
The National Weather Service issued a flurry of emergency weather warnings including a tornado warning for a short period of time as well as severe thunderstorm warnings throughout the night.
The line of storms screamed across the area at more than 50 mph. More than 500 lightning strikes were recorded over the span of several minutes while more than 29,800 customers were without power in our region at one point.
There were also several reports of downed trees and storm damage in neighborhoods across the area, including Montgomery County.
The warnings came after the NBC10 First Alert Team issued a First Alert from 4 p.m. to midnight for the entire area.
Nearly the entire region (except Sussex County, Delaware, and the Poconos) is under a Flash Flood Watch until 2 a.m. Wednesday.
