Hermine Brings Strong Winds, High Seas Off New Jersey Coast

The National Weather Service said Tuesday that a tropical storm warning was continued to be in effect off the coast, from Monmouth to Cape May counties.

Forecasters said the strongest winds and roughest seas could come late Tuesday as the storm makes its closed approach to the state.

The tropical storm warnings for Jersey shore towns were replaced Monday by a coastal flood advisory, which was scheduled to remain in effect until 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The change came as Hermine continued to twist hundreds of miles offshore in the Atlantic Ocean. [[287977901, C]]
