Freeze Warning in Place in Parts of New Jersey

NBC10 First Alert Weather: a Frosty Start

It's a cold Monday morning with temperatures in the 30s but will warm up to the low 60s. NBC10 First Alert Meteorologist Bill Henley is tracking rain but also a nice warm up for later this week. (Published Monday, Oct. 20, 2014)

New Jerseyans are facing a cold morning after a weekend of mild temperatures.

A freeze warning is in effect for Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset, western Passaic, Ocean, Cumberland, Atlantic and southeast Burlington counties.

Freezing temperatures can kill unprotected crops and sensitive vegetation.

A frost advisory is in effect for eastern Passaic, western Bergen, western Essex, western Union, Middlesex, western Monmouth, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester and Camden counties.

The cold could damage tender vegetation in those areas.
