Winter got off to a light start as the Delaware Valley got its first snowfall of the season Saturday.
Now brace for a big dip in temperatures and windy weather.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and chilly with a high of 42. Make sure to prepare for slippery roads and limited visibility especially on bridges and overpasses.
Saturday night's temperatures dropped into the low 30's. Most of Saturday's accumulation of 3 to 6 inches was north and west of the city in upper Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Berks Counties according to the National Weather Service. Some areas continued to get rain.
PECO officials said more than 10,000 people in the six-county area were without power, according to the Inquirer. Wet and slushy snow caused some tree branches to weigh down and fall on utility lines.
According to Gene Blaun with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation 291 salt trucks were on the road Saturday night to clear roads.
Monday will be mainly sunny with a high of 41.
