Tropical moisture is streaming into our area and will enhance rain chances as we head into the weekend.
Worse, due to rain-soaked grounds, even a little more rain will increase the possibility of flooding. The Pennsylvania suburbs, Philadelphia and Mercer County are under the lowest Flash Flood threshold. That means only a couple of inches may cause problems in those locations.
Friday will be hot and steamy with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely. Late in the day, a cold front will approach the region. Periods of moderate rain may be enough to cause road ponding and creek swelling.

Unfortunately, rain this weekend will make it the SIXTH straight weekend with showers for Philadelphia. We haven’t had an entirely dry weekend in Philly since April 21-22.
