Monday’s storms have passed through Philadelphia and warmer temperatures are on the horizon. NBC10′ First Alert Weather meteorologist Krystal Klei has your exclusive 10-Day on 10 forecast, including this week’s upcoming shift to summer weather.
Strong storms with heavy rain and wind moved through the region on Monday.
NBC10 issued a First Alert for the entire Philadelphia area from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday for fast-moving severe storms.
Damaging wind gusts were the biggest threat with the chance for hail and an isolated twister.
"The storms are so fast moving that if you are out and unaware, you might not get much time to seek shelter," First Alert Weather meteorologist Bill Henley said.

Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania suburbs and most of South Jersey were placed under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch the first Severe Thunderstorm Warning of the day took place around 1:40 p.m. in northern Berks County where 60 mph winds and quarter-sized hail threatened. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was then issued for the entire region.
Storms began to hit Berks County and the Lehigh Valley late Monday afternoon. Severe storms moved through parts of Berks, Montgomery and Chester counties shortly after 5 p.m. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was in effect for Berks, Chester and Montgomery counties until 6 p.m.
The storms moved through the Philadelphia area around 7 p.m. before moving off the Jersey Shore around 9 p.m.
Weather Stories
Several suburban schools and districts, including the Spring-Ford Area and Upper Perkiomen school districts, reported early dismissals in the NBC10.com School Closings system due to the severe weather forecast. The Central Bucks School District canceled all after school activities.
Nice spring weather with less humidity and temperatures in the 70s will return starting Tuesday.
