First Real Snow Snarls Traffic Around the Region

Light snow began falling after the lunch hour south of the city in places like Cape May, New Jersey,  Dover and Georgetown, Delaware. And by 7 p.m. it was all over.

Snow accumulations of a coating to an inch were expected south of Philadelphia with one to three inches expected the farther south you go.

Even though only small accumulations were expected, roads were slick even along some of the major arteries like the Garden State Parkway. An accident there shut down northbound lanes in Egg Harbor Township for a short time during the afternoon. Conditions could get worse overnight.

Temperatures were not expected to rise above freezing today or tonight.
