Winter Weather Advisory as Rain, Sleet Fall Across Area

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Lehigh Valley and Berks County as a system brings a mix of snow, sleet and rain to the region.

Precipitation moved into the area early Saturday morning with parts north and west of Philadelphia seeing flurries as temperatures remained in the low 30s.

Closer to the city, rain and light sleet fell, leading to some slippery road conditions. Temperatures will head into the low 40s, as the advisory remains in effect for Berks and Lehigh counties until 6 p.m.

The warm temperatures will prevent any snowfall from accumulating.

The wintry mix will switch completely over to rain Sunday as temperatures rise to an unseasonably warm level.

Highs in the low 60s are expected Sunday before a cold front pushes through the area, pushing temperatures back towards the freezing mark Monday.
