Messy Mix Shuts Down Roads

Freezing rain iced the Philadelphia region over, leaving major roads better suited for skating than driving.

Several accidents in Delaware County forced officials to shut down the Route 1 Media bypass in both directions.

Drivers had to stay clear of the road near Route 252 and Baltimore Pike for several hours.

The road has been reopened.

The rain should end later tonight and the area is in for a clear and sunny Super Bowl Sunday.

Another storm should hit the area on Tuesday with a chance of a small amount of snow though it will most likely be rain.

Temperatures will drop on Wednesday giving way to another storm coming in on Thursday. During that storm the area will likely be hit by snow.
