Powerful storms caused flooding, damage, outages and water rescues throughout the area on Monday.
Flooding and water rescues were already reported in parts of the region Monday afternoon including North Philadelphia which saw widespread rainfall of two to four inches.
Flooding and water rescues were also reported in Montgomery County. Cheltenham alone had more than 24 rescue calls though no major injuries were reported.
One Cheltenham resident told NBC10 he and his family were forced to move to their roof as their home was flooded. They waited for nearly an hour before they were rescued.
Storms also brought down trees throughout the area leading to widespread power outages and damage. One man suffered a concussion and had to be rescued after a tree fell on his SUV on Church Road in Wyncote.
The storm moved out and flood waters began to recede Monday evening.
Damage remained Tuesday morning, however. In Cherry Hill, New Jersey, wires and trees were down as cleanup continued.
