Strong storms that ravaged the Midwest with tornadoes moved through the Philadelphia region overnight leaving far less devastation but still knocking out power to some residents.
The storms quickly moved through the region dropping heavy rain with gusts up to 50 mph, according to the NBC10 First Alert Weather team.
It also left more than 5,500 customers without power in parts of the region including more than 2,000 without power in Burlington County, N.J. and more than 2,600 in New Castle as of 5 a.m.
The strong wind gusts also downed plenty of leaves, which combined with the wet weather led to a tricky commute as motorists were urged to leave a little extra time to get where they needed to go.
With the rain mostly out to see by 6:30 a.m., the winds remained leaving a possibility of more downed lines.
