Crash Near Six Flags Great Adventure Leaves 5 Hurt

3-car collision leaves 5 with serious injuries

In New Jersey, five people are in the hospital after a three-car wreck on a highway outside of a Six Flags theme park.

New Jersey state police say that an attempted pass led to two cars colliding and causing one of the vehicles to cross the road's dividing line on the highway near the Jackson Township amusement park. The Asbury Park Press reports the car that crossed the dividing line then collided head-on with a third vehicle.

Authorities say five people were taken to various hospitals with serious injuries.

State police say the crash closed both lanes of Route 537 for about four hours and they are continuing to investigate. [[238427591, C]]
