SEPTA Extends Deadline to Pick Up Pope Visit Train Passes

People who won a lottery for special train passes for the weekend of Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia will have an extra day to finalize their transactions.

SEPTA says it is extending the deadline to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, rather than midnight Sunday.

Those who haven't completed their transactions by submitting credit or debit card information by then will no longer have the opportunity to buy passes, and incomplete transactions will be voided.

A second round of email notifications will go out starting Monday evening through Tuesday to those lottery entrants not initially selected.

The agency is capping ridership at 175,000 for each day of the pope's Sept. 26-27 visit. SEPTA is limiting service during the papal visit to select stations.
