A man died after being struck by a bus in downtown Philadelphia Tuesday, said Philadelphia Police.

It happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday when a Route 23 Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority bus struck a man near 11th and Walnut streets, said investigators.

The SEPTA driver didn't know he struck the man until a taxi driver flagged him down a few blocks away, said police.

Authorities didn't immediately identify the victim.

The accident remained under investigation Tuesday morning.
