NJ Transit Alerts Now on Twitter

New service for rail and bus passengers to check commuter alerts

New Jersey Transit riders can now get transportation alerts via Twitter.

Agency officials on Wednesday launched 13 My Transit alert feeds, including one for each of its rail and light rail lines and two feeds for its northern and southern bus service. The feeds will provide instant updates about service disruptions, station maintenance, detours and other advisories.

The agency also unveiled a "scorecard" initiative, which seeks input from customers to help it determine how its service is working and where it can be improved.

Passengers can register online to take part in the first Scorecard survey to be conducted in April. The first quarterly reports will be posted in July.
