Deadly Crash Along Snowy Road

A deadly one-car crash left the westbound lanes of I-676 at the base of the Walt Whitman Bridge closed.

Snowy conditions might be to blame for the accident that took place in Camden, N.J.
According to police, a car crashed around 7 a.m. this morning  just before the bridge.

State Troopers had to break a window to get into the car to help the driver. They then performed CPR on the scene.

The driver was rushed to Cooper University Hospital by Our Lady of Lourdes EMS. The driver however did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital around 8 a.m.

The identity of the driver has not been released, but his or her family is being notified of the accident and death.

Expect travel delays in that area as New Jersey State Police Fatal Accident unit continues to investigate the scene. Part of that investigation is seeing if snow in the area played a role in the wreck.
