Error-Riddled Paper Schedules Cost SEPTA, Cause Commuter Confusion

SEPTA switched over to a new Regional Rail schedule Sunday, a relatively routine occurrence for the thousands of commuters heading to the city from the surrounding suburbs each day. But the change has already caused confusion among passengers as the paper schedules for at least half the train lines contain errors.

The Authority confirmed it printed schedules for at least eight Regional Rail lines – Chestnut Hill West, Cynwyd, Fox Chase, Lansdale/Doylestown, Manayunk/Norristown, Media/Elwyn, Paoli/Thorndale and Wilmington/Newark – with mistakes.

And there could be more.

"We're still going through the online and print to double check the schedules," said Kristin Geiger, a SEPTA spokeswoman. "There are so many intricate details with the schedules. Sometimes when you change one thing it has effects on other things."
