Car Collides with NJ Transit Train, Driver Injured

Authorities said the driver sustained "serious injuries"

A car collided with a New Jersey Transit train in northern New Jersey, injuring the driver. 

The cause of the crash, which occured around 9 a.m. Monday at the Hollywood Avenue crossing in Ho-Ho-Kus, was not immediately clear, but an investigation was continuing.

Authorities said the driver sustained "serious injuries," but further details were not disclosed. The driver's name also was not disclosed.

Four people were aboard the Waldwick-bound train when the accident occurred, but no injuries were reported, NJ Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. said.

The accident did not impact train service in the area.
