New Jersey Man Goes to Bar After Crash: Police

    Police say a New Jersey man left a woman in an overturned car and went to a bar for some drinks after he crashed.

    Keansburg police have charged 27-year-old Joseph Alianiello of Middletown with leaving the scene of an accident, reckless and careless driving, obstruction and several other offenses.

    The crash occurred late Saturday on Shore Boulevard in Keansburg, which is located across Lower Bat from Staten Island.

    Deputy Police Chief Michael Pigott tells the Asbury Park Press Alianiello left the scene and went to a bar for some drinks. An eyewitness told police the man was bragging how he had gotten away from a big accident.

    The woman in the car was treated and released at a hospital.

    Police later arrested Alianiello at his home.
