Take a look in your closet. Now take that shirt/dress/skirt/pair o' pants you've never worn because it really did look better on the rack and put it in a bag.
Repeat until you've filled a bag. Then grab the bag, $20 and get going to the Philadelphia Swap-O-Rama-Rama. When you get to the tables with all the clothing that everyone else is getting rid of, dive in with abandon.
You can take as much as you like.
After you get your clothing, you can pull a Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink by finding a sewing machine and making your new items truly your own, like adding silk-screening, trim and more. The sewing workshops, which are varied and hosted by local artists, are part of the event.
Proceeds from the Swap-O-Rama-Rama will benefit Girls Rock Philadelphia. Leftover clothing will donated to local non-profits.
The giant clothing swap runs from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Old Pine Community Center at 4th and Lombard Streets.
