The Punk Rock Flea Market

****THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO AN L&I INVESTIGATION****

Sick and tired of walking up and down Walnut Street, looking for unique gifts from chain stores? The answer to your shopping woes is at the Starlight Ballroom Saturday.

The Punk Rock Flea Market takes over the Ballroom (460 N. 9th St.) this Saturday, Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It costs $3 to get in—but the wares you’ll find inside are more than worth the entry fee.

Yeah, it’s a full-on flea market, with used electronic equipment, furniture and vintage clothes. But there’s always a sizable number of local artists there, too, hawking everything from handmade journals to screen-printed T-shirts to one-of-a-kind jewelry.

Last year, Jay McCaroll—yes, Jay from Project Runway fame—was there selling his fashions. Check out a list of this year’s vendors here.

In addition to the goodies, there will also be a full bar and food service throughout the day. All proceeds raised will go toward R5Productions—primarily the liability insurance the group needs to pay to ensure shows will continue at the First Unitarian Church.
