Pop-up & Shop This Season

Permanent stores too packed with holiday shoppers? Try checking out seasonal pop-up stores

With Halloween this weekend and the holidays quickly approaching, shoppers are coming out of the woodwork to fulfill their need to buy. To take advantage of this, many business entrepreneurs are opening temporary retail facilities called pop-up stores.

The openings of these temporary stores can help the local economy in many ways, starting with their employment of local citizens.

Toys ‘R’ Us is opening nine seasonal Express stores in the Philadelphia aregion for the holiday season. Harry & David’s, the upscale fruit grower and seller, is opening 16 pop-up “orchards,” around the country, one of which is in Philadelphia. And Borders has two pop-up locations in the Tristate area.
