Beat the Snow — Go on Vacation

Are snowy and cold days making you feel like you gotta get away?

Well, here are some great winter getaways that won't put a big hole in your wallet.

A big way to save going to any of these locations is to travel during the week when the cheapest flights/rooms are available.

Are you California Dreaming?  You can fly from Philadelphia to the Bay Area (Oakland of San Francisco) during the week in February for less than $100 each way at Southwest.com.

Maybe you want to go someplace a bit warmer. Fly from Philly to San Diego for about $285 roundtrip on SideStep.com.

How about going someplace a bit more tropical? There are many resorts in the Caribbean looking for your business.

Apple Vacations has a bunch of great offers including a last-minute three-night stay in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for less than 500 bucks -- or, stay the whole week for just $600.

Often the Punta Cana deals include room and board at all-inclusive resorts -- just ask your travel agent.

Of course you can always make the snow falling play to your advantage by hitting the slopes in the Poconos. Camelback, Blue Mountain and Big Boulder/Jack Frost mountains are all just a tank of gas (and a toll or two) away.

Want to stay the night? A room near Camelback costs as little as $60 a night during the week.

Looking to get lucky this winter? Then maybe Atlantic City is the place for you.

Gamblers or anyone just wanting to get a look at the ocean can book a room for less than $60 at the Showboat, Hilton or Resorts if they choose a weeknight in early February.

So don't let winter weather rain on your parade -- just move that parade someplace else.
