A.C. Casinos Cheapen the Deal

Gambling resorts offer deeply discounted hotel rooms

How about a room at Resorts Casino Hotel for only $39 a night?

It sounds too good to be true but bargains like these aren’t hard to find at many Atlantic City casinos right now.

On Hotels.com, a standard room for two at Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza, and Atlantic City Hilton were found at only $55 a night. Even cheaper rates were found at both Bally's and Showboat Casinos for as low as $44 a night.

But Resorts was king with their deeply discounted weekday rate.

Casino hotels in the nation’s second largest gambling market are in the midst of one of their biggest revenue slumps in years as slot parlors in nearby states like Pennsylvania and Delaware give out -of-town gamblers more options.

The casinos are trying to convince travelers and even locals looking to get away for the weekend or just a night to cash in on cheap rooms.

Several Atlantic City casinos are offering extreme discounted prices in an attempt to boost their revenue during the slow winter season. According to PressofAtlanticCity.com aside from low rates, expect to find cheaper prices for food, entertainment, shopping and other tourist related activities.

In a recent report, The Spectrum Gaming Group predicted that the revenue drop will likely continue. This means better bargains for travelers but more bad news for Atlantic City’s once booming casino industry.
