Want to meet Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio? Head to Williams-Sonoma at the Bellevue this Wednesday, June 17 from noon to 2 p.m. where he'll be signing books. Sorry, fellas: Padma is not expected to join him.
Colicchio, who was a respected New York chef long before he became a famous food TV face, will be signing copies of his new cookbook 'wichcraft at the Center City store. The book offers 85 recipes from Colicchio's 'wichcraft sandwich shops, which serve--you guessed it--sandwiches. Rather than the basic meat-between-two-slices-of-bread, these sandwiches are more sophisticated--think egg salad with caviar and Sicilian tuna with fennel and olives.
The event is free, but guests are required to purchase a copy of the book. Don't even think about buying it on Amazon; you'll have to lay out $27.50 for the hardcover at the Williams-Sonoma to get any face--or autograph--time with the chef.
We'd advise getting there early. If this is anything like the Ina Garten book signing we attended at the Williams-Sonoma at the King of Prussia mall last year, the line is going to be very, very long. Maybe you'll want to pick up a cheesesteak from the brand new Rick's location in the food court downstairs to tide you over while you wait? We doubt it's 'wichcraft material, but it is totally Philly.
