Specials to Make Mom Smile

Mother's Day meal deals around the city

Mother’s Day is this Sunday and local restaurants are celebrating with great special menus and treats for mom.

“Mother’s Day is a great time to eat out and our special menu items make it even more fun for the whole family,” says Cuba Libre chef Guillermo Pernot.

Cuba Libre has several new additions to their menu created with mom in mind. Try some of their specials like cocktail de camarones (jumbo shrimp cocktail with purple potato salad, huancaina sauce and island cocktail salsa) and bistec de Lomo (grilled filet mignon churrasco served with lemon-marinated grilled jumbo shrimp and rapini in enchilada all topped with a creamy cilantro béarnaise sauce).

Dishes range between $9 and $31.50.

Reservations for brunch begin at 10:30 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m.

For a brunch mom is sure to remember, head to Bistro St. Tropez in Center City. This year they are offering a special three course fixed price menu for just $25, in addition to their a la carte menu. Bonus -- all moms get bottomless Bloody Mary’s and mimosas.

Brunch will be served from 10:30 until 3 p.m. Make your reservation today.

If your mom is feeling lucky, check out the menu at Upstares & Sotto Varalli on Broad Street. They’re treating moms to a free Pennsylvania lottery ticket and a $25 gift card, both of which will really make her day. The chef’s specials are sure to make her smile, too.

Reservations are needed.

Maybe mom's a big seafood fan. Take her to McCormick and Schmick's in Center City for wild Alaska seafood starting at just under $20. The restaurant will also be serving a special brunch until 3 p.m. (free dessert for mom included) as well as their daily printed menu.
