Porcini Pigout

Award-winning chef wants to make you dinner

Chef Chip Roman is not sitting on his laurels. A semifinalist for not one, but two 2009 James Beard Awards (for Rising Star Chef of the Year and Best Chef Mid-Atlantic), Roman has announced his intentions to create a four-course Chef's Tasting Menu every Monday night beginning March 16 at his restaurant Blackfish in Conshohoken. Book now, for spots are sure to fill up quickly.

Next Monday's main ingredient will be porcini mushrooms. Chef Roman plans to highlight the fungi alone, and alongside seafood dishes like seared day boat scallops and steelhead (it’s a fish).

The prix-fixe, four-course Monday menus cost $45 per person (a benefit to catching this rising star on his way up to the top). As Blackfish is BYOB, don't forget to bring a bottle of your favorite wine along with you to wash it all down. What a great cure for the Monday blues!
