Lolita, the haute Mexican BYOB in Midtown Village, is bringing back its summer barbecue series, starting Monday, June 1. Every Monday throughout the summer, they're serving up a different $35 three-course menu centered around a particular grilled ingredient and for the first BBQ of the season, pork is the shining star.
The June 1 menu kicks off with a Serrano ham, melon and butter lettuce salad; for entrees, prepare to pig out on pineapple-glazed baby-back ribs, hickory-smoked pork carnitas and grilled pork tenderloin with a three chile rub, and for dessert, tres leches cake and a Mexican-spiced chocolate pot de creme.
Of course, since it's a BYO, you'll have to bring your own booze. Tote along a bottle of tequila to combine with Lolita's homemade margarita mixers, like the luscious watermelon-mint or summery strawberry basil.
Courses are served family style and the whole table must participate. Call 215-546-7100 for reservations.
