Kildare's

Anyone who builds 3 complete pubs in Ireland, then ships them to Southeast Pennsylvania, must be a blooming idiot or a bloody genius! Now you can decide for yourself in West Chester, King of Prussia or Manayunk.

Proprietor Dr. Dave Magrogan transformed the former "The Restaurant & The Bar" at 18 Gay Street into a little piece of Dublin. His 2nd location was at the former "Pizzeria Uno's" in King of Prussia across from the Mall on Rt. 202. "We basically kept the outside stone walls, and inside we recreated Irish heritage, pub history and culture," he explains. "We shipped in six 40 foot containers of Irish artifacts to use throughout the building. The same terrific Irish Pub Company from Ireland who designed and built the interior of our West Chester location is here again for King of Prussia. They've designed and built the interior and exterior, which is 4 times larger than West Chester. We're also training over 100 staff members in traditional Irish hospitality and service." His 3rd location was opened at the former Kansis City Prime in Manayunk!

Ireland's Pubs are much more than simply places for drinking - they are social experiences: theater, debating room, and family room. The entrance of Kildare's represent Ireland's Rural Shop Pubs which can have one area serving butter & eggs, while another area serves foaming glasses of stout. As you pass through the shop pub you enter the "Victorian Pub" often found in the great capital city of Ireland, Dublin where literary scholars would often take refuge.

Another area of Kildare's represents the "Gaelic Period" of Ireland, with its hand-hewn wooden log chairs and tree trunks from Ireland.
The Pub is an extension of the home. At Kildare's, this area is represented by the cottage dining room, where the publican would open his doors to friends and neighbors alike for cheerful hours of drinking, storytelling, conversations and music.

In King of Prussia, the building's original 250-year-old roof was kept within the building and can be seen in the high ceiling of the second floor's tribute to Irish Breweries. Three Irish craftsmen were brought in to hand-thatch the rooftop. King of Prussia also boasts a large stone replica of St. James' Gate of Guinness Legacy in Dublin.

The staff is friendly, the food is terrific, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Paul Lauriello, managing partner says, "We hope you meet some new friends, partake of good wholesome food, share our joy in serving you, leave with a little piece of Ireland in your heart and come again soon to enjoy our Traditional Irish Hospitality."
