Hard Rock International says it hopes to open a new $275 million casino in Atlantic City in the spring of 2014.
At a community meeting, representatives of the company, which is owned by the Seminole Indians of Florida, said it still needs several layers of governmental approvals before it can break
ground.
Hard Rock is one of three firms that have expressed interest in building one of two smaller casinos New Jersey has authorized for Atlantic City. The pilot program seeks to jump-start new investment
in the nation's second-largest gambling market.
The Press of Atlantic City reports an architect representing the company says it hopes to begin work late this year or in early 2012.
