Gracias Again, Garces

Tinto's prix-fixe lunch is just too good to pass up

Because Jose Garces hasn't been good enough to us (thank you again for your newest, Chifa!), he recently unveiled his $18 prix-fixe Bilbao Express lunch at Rittenhouse-adjacent Tinto (not to be confused with the $12.50 Catalan Express lunch at Amada in Old City).

The prix-fixe includes two courses, the first of which includes a choice of selected charcuterie, cheeses, soups like truffled chestnut with duck and mushroom hash or crab and seafood chowder. Among the salads, we'd be hard-pressed to choose between the arugula salad with Serrano ham, persimmons and fried goat cheese or the Tinto nicoise.

Second courses are sandwiches (the shortrib with bacon, asparagus and celery root aioli sounds too good to be true) or larger dishes like chorizo and mussels with frites or chicken with truffled whipped mashed potatoes.

He likes us… he really likes us.
