Euro-Latin Fusion Comes to the Main Line

Tapas come to Bryn Mawr, Pa.

Two of the Main Line’s best known chefs joined forces top open a Euro-Latin dining experience that will please the senses.

Executive chef, Nick Farina of Blush Restaurant and former owner of Carmine’s Creole Cafe, Howard Taylor, teamed up to open Verdad (‘truth’ in Spanish) in Bryn Mawr (818 W. Lancaster Ave).

The Euro-Latin tapas restaurant with a tequila bar is set to open Friday, August 7. The restaurant will mainly focus on small plates with Spanish, Cuban, Brazilian and Mexican influences.

“I’m very excited to bring Chef Farina on board,” said Taylor. “I believe he is the most talented chef on the Main Line. His tapas-style menu is unlike anything this area has ever seen.”

“My passion for tapas started many years ago when I was traveling throughout Europe,” said Chef Farina.

“I love eating tapas-style. It allows me to experience many dishes at a single meal,” he said.

Some of the items you will find in the menu are soups and salads, ceviche, a variety of tacos, scallops and paella.

Prices on Verdad’s menu average around $35 per person including a drink and three tapas-style plates. The bar will feature Latin inspired cocktails and a wine selection from South America.

The restaurant dinner hours will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday hours will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Lunches will be served Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“I am excited to bring my take on this style of dining to the Main Line,” said Farina.
